Adult Literacy Tutor Schaumburg

Read to Learn Adult Literacy/Volunteer Program: Volunteer tutors work one-on-one with adults to improve basic English reading and writing skills. Classes meet for 2.5 hours per week for 10 weeks at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm on Tuesdays.

Training is mandatory for all new volunteers. The first part of new tutor training will next be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Rd., Arlington Heights. Volunteer tutors must have a high school diploma or a GED and be at least 18 years of age.
