2025 Juneteenth in the Burbs
5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration with volunteer opportunities/groups that include:
1. Event Setup & Breakdown Crew:

Tasks: Setting up tents, tables, signage; helping vendors unload; post-event cleanup.
2. Greeters & Wayfinders:

Tasks: Welcome guests, hand out programs/maps, direct people to key areas (stage, restrooms, food).
3. Program & Stage Assistants:

Tasks: Help performers/speakers stay on schedule, manage mics, handle last-minute needs onstage.
4. Kids' Activities Helpers:

Tasks: Run crafts, oversee games, make sure kids are safe and engaged.

Bracelet and button making station.
5. Vendor & Artist Liaisons:

Tasks: Check in with vendors/artists, troubleshoot issues, keep traffic flowing in market areas.
6. Cultural Storytelling & History Ambassadors:

Tasks: Staff info tables, answer questions, facilitate reflection spaces, read stories.
7. Wellness & Safety Team:

Tasks: Monitor for heat/safety issues, keep water stations stocked, assist first-aid if trained, aware of all cooling stations.

Blood Drive Table: Encourage sign-ups, explain process, hand out info sheets (no medical expertise needed—just clear communication!).

Alzheimer’s Awareness/ACS: Help distribute literature, invite people to pledge support, assist with any interactive elements like memory boards or tribute walls.
8. Social Media Street Team:

Tasks: Take photos/videos, live-post updates, engage with attendees online.

Coordinate with the photo station to gather pics quickly for live posting; encourage attendees to tag the event and use hashtags
9. Floaters & Flex Support:

Tasks: Fill gaps wherever needed, troubleshoot in the moment.
10. Photo Station Hosts:

Tasks: Welcome people to the step & repeat, help them pose if needed, manage the line so it flows smoothly, and keep props organized.

Snap pics at the step & repeat, circulate around the event to catch candid moments, and gather shots of key moments like performances, community booths, and kids’ activities.

Coordinate with the photo station to gather pics quickly for live posting; encourage attendees to tag the event and use hashtags.
